Place: Old Mt. Hermon School in Mile Branch Settlement

1. Contestants must be a resident of Washington Parish.

2. Contestants are encouraged to dress in pioneer attire, but it is not mandatory.

3. Each school will select a winner and alternate from the fifth and sixth grades (from this school year). The names of each winner and alternate must be received by October 13, 2024.

4. The chairperson at each school is responsible for submitting the names to the Spelling Bee Chairperson. The names of the contestants (winner and alternate) must be emailed to carolynmcelveen@gmail.com.

5. The words will be selected from state approved spellers according to grade level.

6. Since the Spelling Bee will be held at 4:00 PM, contestants should be there by 3:45 PM.

7. Old Mt. Hermon School will be closed during the Spelling Bee.

8. Pictures will be made immediately following the Spelling Bee.

**Students are encouraged to wear a mask, but it is not mandatory.**
